Criterion text
All equipment that provides cooling or heating shall be insulated.
With regards to refrigeration equipment, the gases used in the manufacture of insulation materials shall have a maximum global warming potential (GWP value) of ≤10.
Verification
The supplier shall, upon request, be able to present any of for example the following:
- Product information sheet or product label that states that the product is insulated and names the gas that was used in manufacturing the insulation materials and its GWP value.
Proposed follow-up
Ensure that the delivered products are insulated and that any gases used have a GWP value that is in accordance with the requirement.
Tables of the GWP values of different refrigerants can be found, amongst other places, on the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's website and Allt om f-gas (only in Swedish).
Information about the criterion
GWP stands for "Global Warming Potential" and is a measurement of the capacity of a greenhouse gas to contribute to the greenhouse effect and global warming. The GWP value can be used to calculate the carbon dioxide equivalent emissions for each respective gas.
