Criterion text

Raw materials from chickens, hens and eggs shall be produced in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council on organic production and labelling of organic products. The products shall also fulfil the following requirements:

  • Chickens and hens shall be able to spend most of the day outside for at least four consecutive months between May and September. The stable shall be open for at least 12 hours per day.
  • Chickens and hens shall have access to grazing covered with vegetation.
  • Chickens and hens shall have the opportunity to take sand baths outdoors or in a litter bed, for example.
