Life cycle assessments show that the greatest environmental impact from IT equipment occurs in the production phase. By using the products for a longer period of time, we contribute to a more sustainable use of the products.
By working strategically with purchases and promoting a more circular handling of IT equipment, you can reduce your organization's environmental impact. It is early in the purchasing process that the possibilities for a more sustainable procurement of IT equipment are created. The procurement therefore needs to be prepared before the sustainability criteria are used to set requirements, the procurement needs to be prepared. Make a needs analysis together with reference persons within the organization, have a dialogue with possible suppliers and then make a strategic decision about what is to be procured.
