Criterion text
The equipment shall be tested and pass tests according to MIL-STD-810H, IEC 60068-2 or an equivalent testing procedure using a modified storage/operating temperature range, durability, and drop height as shown below.
The equipment shall be dropped from a height of at least 45 centimetres (modified drop test height) onto a solid surface. At least one field test shall be carried out for each edge of the underside and each corner of the underside.
The equipment shall undergo test cycles exposing it to the following storage temperatures for at least 48 hours:

High storage temperature ≥60°C.

Low storage temperature ≤−30°C.
The equipment shall undergo test cycles exposing it to the following temperatures for at least four hours whilst under operation:

Operating temperature ≥40°C.

Operating temperature ≤−20°C.
Verification
Upon request, the supplier shall be ready to present one of the following; for example:

Documentation showing that the requirement is met, such as a product information sheet, a manual or similar.

Labelling that meets the requirement, such as valid certification in accordance with

TCO Certified, generation 9, for notebooks

TCO Certified, generation 9, for tablets

TCO Certified, generation 9, for smartphones

The supplier's self-declaration of compliance with the requirements, including technical documentation, verified by a verification body accredited for the task according to ISO/IEC 17029 or an equivalent standard.

Check/review the information provided by the supplier in its tender.
Labelling
If the requirement is verified by a label, check that there is valid certification for the product. This can be verified on the environmental certification website, TCO Certified.
Self-declaration verified by an accredited verification body
If a verified self-declaration is used as verification for the requirement, request the supplier's self-declaration along with documentation showing that the requirement is met. A self-declaration shall be verified by a verification body accredited for the task in accordance with ISO/IEC 17029 or an equivalent standard.
Spot checks
Verify that the equipment has been tested in accordance with the requirement.
